About me

I am a data scientist and the host of Espresso Exchanges, a conversation series built on curiosity and human connection.

Through short, intentional coffee conversations, I explore people’s journeys, ideas, and the one message they would share with the world.

The Beginning

I moved to Australia in early 2022 and quickly realised that networking plays a significant role in navigating the job market. People often suggested catching up for coffee. In Melbourne especially, coffee is not just a drink. It is a social space where conversations happen naturally.

At first, this felt like a cultural shock.

Growing up in India, approaching someone who was senior in hierarchy for a casual coffee chat was not common. There was usually a visible distance between levels of experience. Senior professionals felt unapproachable. You did not simply message someone with more experience and say,

“Let’s grab a coffee.”

In Australia, I saw something different. People did exactly that.

Curiosity began to replace hesitation. I wondered whether the barrier existed in reality or only in my own thinking.

So I decided to test it.

I invited someone for coffee. Someone I knew well enough to feel comfortable, but still someone I would normally hesitate to approach in that way. While drafting that message, I realised something important. If I felt this internal resistance, others might feel it too.

That first coffee conversation changed my perspective.

It made me question how many opportunities are lost because we are afraid to reach out. It made me realise that hierarchy often exists more strongly in our minds than in reality.

What began as a simple experiment turned into something larger.

Short conversations. Intentional questions. Real stories. And always one final message for the world.

That is how Espresso Exchanges was born.

Background

I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence from Deakin University, where I developed a strong foundation in machine learning, data analytics, and research. During my academic journey, I consistently challenged myself, earning recognition for both academic performance and leadership contributions.

Today, I work as a data science graduate at AKD, applying analytical thinking to real-world problems and helping translate data into practical business decisions. My work allows me to stay close to technology while constantly learning from experienced professionals.

Outside of technical work, I value spaces that encourage open conversation. University leadership roles, community involvement, and cricket have all shaped how I think about teamwork, communication, and growth.

Espresso Exchanges reflects that intersection. It brings together analytical curiosity and human connection in one place.
