📍Q: What inspired you to start your podcast, Navigate with Peppy?
Tinaika: “I’d wanted to start it for a long time during uni but was constantly overwhelmed with assignments. After graduating, during the job-hunting phase—which took a mental toll—I craved a positive distraction. That’s when I finally decided to launch the podcast. I had zero experience and was skeptical, but after speaking to others who’d done it, they all said: just start. So, I did. I watched YouTube tutorials, explored different podcasting styles, and began recording with borrowed gear—my friend’s camera and my own phone—at a rented studio. My first few guests were close friends, just to get into a rhythm and build comfort with the process. Eventually, word spread. Guests referred more guests, and it became a ripple effect. Having lived by myself for a while, I turned to podcasts for connection. But I never found the kind I needed—so I created my own. It’s now my way of building a community that makes people feel seen, heard, and supported.”
📍Q: How has hosting a podcast influenced your professional or personal growth?
Tinaika: “Hosting Navigate with Peppy has changed me in ways I couldn’t have predicted. As someone who was once shy, the podcast gave me confidence to initiate conversations, to show up authentically. In a culturally driven market like Australia, this helped me sharpen my interpersonal skills and find my voice—literally and figuratively. I’ve become more open to new experiences, and it’s made me feel more grounded in who I am. I’m genuinely grateful for the growth this project brought into my life.”

Tinaika: “I don’t feel the need to force the two paths—data and development—into one. For me, they run parallel. One is my profession, and the other is my passion. I want to keep them distinct and give them space to evolve individually.”
